Hands-On Workshop: Modeling of Electrical Systems with MATLAB, Simulink and Simscape

Location: Torrance, CA
Venue: MathWorks Training Room
Date: Wednesday, August 20, 2014
Time: 11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Overview

This workshop will guide you through the process of modeling electro-mechanical systems in the Simulink and Simscape environment. Starting from underlying physical principles, we will model and simulate a DC Motor, employing experimental data to fine tune the accuracy of the model. Position control of the motor will be performed using various control design techniques and driver circuit implementations. You will learn about accurately representing an electromechanical system using Simscape and the physical modeling suite of tools and performing control design on it.

Highlights include:

  • Accessing data from many sources (files, other software, hardware, etc.)
  • Using interactive tools for iterative exploration, design, and problem solving
  • Automating and capturing your work in easy-to-write scripts and programs
  • Sharing your results with others by automatically creating reports
Lunch will be provided. Please note, space is limited to 15 people so after you register, we will contact you to confirm your spot.
