Overview

Session 1: What's New in MATLAB for Teaching, Learning and Research

MATLAB and Simulink provide a flexible and powerful platform to develop and automate data analysis and simulation workflows in a wide range of domains and industries. Recent innovations in the product make it even easier to use it for research, teaching, learning and collaboration across disciplines like engineering, sciences, medicine, business, agriculture, etc.

Highlights Include:

  • Research - Prototyping with APPs, fast execution, big data support, automation, APIs for third party tools
  • Learning - Self-paced trainings, project based learning, hardware support
  • Teaching - Auto-grading online assignments, computation in courses, books
  • Collaboration - Live Editor, creating APPs, EXEs
  • Resources - Web, Community, Engineers

Session 2: Speeding Up MATLAB Applications

In this session, you’ll learn a variety of methods to speed up your MATLAB applications. This will include tips on how to optimize the performance of the MATLAB code itself, as well as illustrating how to use the MATLAB family of products to take advantage of additional hardware, such as multicore machines, GPUs, and computer clusters.

Highlights Include:

  • Leverage the power of vector and matrix operations in MATLAB
  • Identify and address bottlenecks in your code
  • Utilize additional processing power available in multicore machines, GPUs, and clusters
